Exmouth & District Community Transport has been working for almost thirty years to support some of the most vulnerable members of our community with their transport needs. We firmly believe that giving people with mobility issues the means to travel for shopping, social purposes, medical appointments etc is an essential factor in maintaining quality of life, wellbeing and independence. However, this is not just for our passengers but also for their carers and family, by providing accessibility to respite care.

We are extremely fortunate in that our Ring and Ride service is part funded by local government, together with additional sponsorship and donations, as well as revenue.

The Community bus and the Whizabout are however entirely funded by revenue, donations and sponsorship.

Exmouth and District Community Transport is being asked to support an increasing number of vulnerable people, year on year. If we are going to support everybody who needs us, we need to increase our resources. To do this, we urgently need YOUR help. Any donation you can make, no matter how small, will help keep our wheels turning, maintaining independence for some of the most vulnerable people in our community.

How you can help.

Organising a Fundraising event is a great way of both raising money for us and raising awareness of what we do.

There are so many ways in which you can fund-raise for us and have fun at the same time!  Here are a few ideas -

  • Take part in a sponsored event - a run, cycle,or even the Exmouth Christmas Day Swim!
  • Charity sporting event
  • Theme night or Race Night
  • Donations in Lieu of a birthday or anniversary present
  • Coffee Morning and /or bake-off.

From time to time, a donation is passed to us with a comment along the lines of, "I wish I could afford to make it more,"  We constantly try to impress on our donors that any amount donated, no matter how small, is very much welcomed and appreciated, as it all adds up!

So if you are one of the kind and generous people wishing that you could give more than you can practicably afford, why not consider remembering us in your will? Many people feel that they would like their presence on earth to leave a positive impact. Pledging a legacy to charity can enable you to provide support on a level that you may have not found possible during your lifetime.

If you do not already have a Will, it is best to seek the help of a solicitor. Although there will be a fee, you can be sure that you will get the best advice and guidance to ensure that your wishes are achieved.

If you already have a Will, you can support us by simply filling in a codicil, which is a straight forward one-page form that we can provide, and which is then attached to your Will. It is still advisable to discuss this with your solicitor before completing the codicil.

 Giving in memory

Making a donation in memory of a loved one is a positive way of commemorating a life, while helping us continue to bring quality of life to vulnerable members of our community.

Give through your salary

A hassle free way to give through your pay!

Payroll Giving, also known as Give As You Earn, is a simple way to make regular donations straight from your salary, without having to give any bank details. It is one of the most tax-effective ways of giving to charity as it comes out of your gross pay (before tax) so it will cost you at least 25% less.

 How do I donate?

Setting up Payroll Giving is easy – just download, print and fill out our simple form and we’ll do the rest.

Every time you are paid, your Payroll Department will deduct your requested amount from your salary and send it to us. There is nothing more for you to do.

Your donation will cost you even less, as it comes out of your gross salary (before tax). So if you agree to give £5, as a basic rate tax payer you’ll only pay £4 - the taxman makes up the remaining £1.

  You Donate…
  It costs a standard rate
tax payer (20%)
  It costs a higher rate
tax payer (40%)

What are the benefits?

It’s simple: Sign up using one simple form.

  • Donor privacy: We do not ask for your bank details as the donation will come straight out of your salary.
  • Control: You can stop or change your donation at any time by contacting your payroll team.
  • Pay less to give more: It is the only way to give that allows full tax relief on donations.
